Walde Immobilien AG is planning a new “Centre of Excellence for Real Estate”. From July 2021, comprehensive services relating to the development and marketing of real estate, real estate law as well as tax and financing will be offered on a site of around 1700 m². Start-ups will also be included. Walde will be the sole tenant of the prominent EBP Schweiz AG office building at Zollikerstrasse 65 in Zollikon from spring 2021. Walde is looking for a suitable tenant for its current headquarters at Alte Landstrasse 107, just a few hundred metres away, as of summer/autumn 2021.

The need for comprehensive services is growing significantly in the marketing and development of investment properties and new construction projects as well as in the purchase and sale of owner-occupied residential property. Specifically, this concerns advice on real estate development, financing as well as tax and legal aspects. From July 2021, the independent real estate marketing company Walde will be meeting this need of private individuals and investors at a new location in Zollikon.

Centre of Excellence with space for start-ups

As early as March 2021, part of the Zollikon company will move into the prestigious property at Zollikerstrasse 65, just off Dufourplatz. The owner and current user of the property is EBP Schweiz AG, a leading global engineering, planning and consulting company that will be consolidating its various locations in Zurich Stadelhofen. 

First, the property will be extensively renovated and modernised. With around 1700 m² of floor space, it offers room for a hundred workstations, various meeting rooms, showrooms and a spacious restaurant area. It is ideally located in terms of transport. Zollikon and Tiefenbrunnen railway stations as well as Bellevue Square can be reached in a few minutes by bus, which stops right outside the entrance.

For the founding couple Marianne and Gerhard Walde, the commercial building offers the ideal conditions for a true “centre of excellence for real estate”. For Gerhard Walde, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the time is ripe: “Today, interdisciplinary services are needed in the development and marketing of real estate – both in development and in purchasing and selling investment properties and owner-occupied residential property.”

Specialist third-party companies, sector-related companies with synergies and start-ups that can support Walde's innovation efforts in the area of digitalising real estate services are involved in the provision of services. The search for appropriate partners is now underway.

All under one roof
Thanks to the move to Zollikerstrasse 65, Walde is once again uniting all corporate divisions, the central IT/CRM, Finance, HR and Marketing services and the Zollikon sales team under one roof. The investment property and new construction divisions have operated in different locations for several years as a result of our growth. A total of about 40 of the currently more than 60 Walde employees will work at the new headquarters. “But employees from the Baden, Lucerne, Sursee, Thalwil and Uster locations will meet us here regularly,” says Gerhard Walde, “because in future, our professional development events, information evenings and company events will also take place in the beautiful new premises.”

Way ahead of the times
The prestigious building complex at Zollikerstrasse 65, a few metres from Dufourplatz in Zollikon, is an eye-catcher, boasting a basilical nave in the middle, flanked on the left and right by two office buildings, surrounded by an idyllic garden. For over thirty years, it has been the headquarters of EBP Schweiz AG, a leading global engineering, planning and consulting company that is consolidating its various offices in Zurich Stadelhofen.

Although the buildings are 34 years old, they perfectly meet today’s requirements for modern, partly fixed, partly flexible workplaces. They offer just as much space for creativity as for quiet hideaways, which caters to the necessary discretion required in the real estate business. This is thanks to the visionary builder-owner at the time, Dr Ernst Basler, founder of EBP Schweiz AG.

In terms of workspace climate and energy efficiency, Basler had high standards that were far ahead of the times. In a working world that was changing dramatically at the time due to computerisation, Basler wanted to bring warmth, experience and sensory richness back into everyday working life. He deliberately left room for innovation. “Creative works and problem solving thrive best in an atmosphere of peace and comfort,” he was quoted as saying in the press after the inauguration of the building in 1986.

35 years of Walde

Walde Immobilien AG was founded in 1985. Its core competence lies in the marketing (sale and rental) of residential and investment properties. Walde & Partner currently acts as an agent for around 400 properties per year; approximately 40% of turnover is generated with portfolio properties, 30% with new construction projects and 30% with investment properties.
